Roger Federer born on 8th august 1981.A Swiss professional tennis player who is now ranked world no 3 by the ATP. He plays as a right handed. Federer is the greatest all rounder of all time he’s best at all forehand, backhand, serve, volley and sprint . His achievements in professional tennis made him popular and was soon called greatest tennis player of all time. Roger turned professional in 1998 and is continuously ranked in the top 10 since 2002.Federer holds many records in Open Era, holding the world no 1 position for 302 weeks(including 237 consecutive weeks);winning 17 grand slam singles titles. Federer has reached every grand slam final at least 5 times (again an all time record) and reaching the Wimbledon final 10 times. Federer has reached 27 Men’s singles grand slam finals, including 10 in a row from Wimbledon 2005 to US open 2007.he has reached 23 consecutive grand slam semifinals from the 2004 Wimbledon to 2010 Australian open.
At the 2016 Australian open he played his 65th consecutive grand slam. Federer is the only player who has won most matches in grand slam (302),and is the first to record 65+ wins at each grand slam tournament .Federer ATP tournaments records includes wining a record six ATP World Tour Finals, playing in the finals of all the nine ATP 1000 tournaments and having won the most prize money of any player in history. He also won the Olympic gold medal in doubles with his partner Stan Wawrinka at the 2008 summer Olympic games and wining the silver medal singles at 2012 summer Olympic games. Representing Switzerland, he was a part of 2014 wining Davis cup team. He spent eight years (2003-2010) continuously in the top 2 in the year ending men’s rankings and ten (2003-2012) in the top 3. He was the Laureus World Sportsmen of The Year for a record four consecutive years (2005-2008). In 2003 he established the Roger Federer Foundation to help disadvantaged children to promote their access to education and sports. He supported South Africa-Swiss charity IMBEWU which helps children connect to sports and social and health awareness. In 2005 he visited South Africa to meet the children who benefited his support and he also arranged exhibition matches for the victims of the tsunami caused by 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. He was appointed the Goodwill Ambassador by UNICEF in April 2006 and appeared in UNICEF public messages to raise public awareness for AIDS. He also arranged exhibition matches for the victims of Haiti earthquake in 2010. In 2010 Zurich and Madrid raised more than $4 million for Roger Federer Foundation. He also took part in exhibition matches for the victims of Queensland floods. In 2014 in a match for Africa he raised 850,000 Euros for education projects in southern Africa.
Federer has won 7 Wimbledon titles
(2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,2009,2012) 5 US open titles (2004,2005,2006,2007,2008) 4 Australian open titles (2004,2006,2007,2010) 1 French open (2009).
Federer is considered the worlds best tennis player of all time G.O.A.T (greatest of all time).Federer has won many matches from every tennis player he has played. Federer has won 8 titles in doubles and is ranked 604. His highest ranking is 24. Federer has dominated every player he has played since 2003 and is also dominating tennis since 2003.Federer favourite court is grass court and he has won most of his grand slam tournaments at grass. Federer although struggles to play on clay court that’s the reason of less clay court tournaments in Federer’s titles. 2003 was the year Federer won his first ever professional grand slam tournament.
